Description
Amanda's art is in response to her immediate surroundings and home. She seeks and finds inspiration from personal treasures, old and new.
Those often considered mundane and overlooked by the casual glance, however, each with stories and reminders of precious memories. Amanda's still life works explore the notion of gratitude and the extent that the combination of everyday items can merge with creativity to result in a sense of harmony and joy.
Amanda delights in the texture of oil paint and her ability to manipulate layers of colour in her art. Upon close inspection, textured brush marks give her, as the artist, a remaining visual presence in the work. She builds up the tone and form of the objects in her compositions focussing on light, shadow and reflection. Often compositions include elements from her garden with a desire that the viewer feel connected to the work.
Painting full time in her cosy home studio in Margaret River, Amanda has been selected for four group exhibitions in NSW to date, also accepting an invitation to Grammar Art Show Qld 2022. Amanda's art is exhibited in galleries across Australia.
Amanda is also open for commissions for 2023.
