Description
Find them on the Ocean Drive, opposite the Lookout, next to Nunn’s Pool in Port Denison.
The Centenary of Anzac 2014 to 2018 is a significant piece of Australian history, with the Shire of Irwin and the Dongara RSL commemorating the Centenary commissioning 15 soldier silhouettes in various poses made out of 2D metal art as a visual memorial for people to look at. The sculptures are designed to rust to a point which will create a protective surface and withstand the salt air.
Some of the comments already received regards the art piece include:
"The slight movement of the statues reminds me of my mates on patrol"
"They remind me of when my Dad patrolled with axe handles with the Home Guard"
