Description
The Australian Jazz Museum (AJM), which includes the Victorian Jazz Archive (VJA), is located in Wantirna, Victoria.
It is an incorporated association that grew out of a meeting held in Sydney on 23rd June 1996 to address growing concern in the jazz community that Australia's rich jazz heritage was at risk of being lost. The MAP-accredited living museum, the Australian Jazz Museum, is now achieving its goal of proactively collecting, archiving and disseminating Australian jazz through the 'permanent' collection, display, preservation and preservation of all materials and memorabilia of all kinds. performed and/or composed by Australian jazz musicians covering the period from the 1920s to the present day".
