Bald Hill Reserve Geurie is a popular destination for birdwatchers.
It is located on the southern periphery of Geurie and features Grey and White Box woodlands, Cypress, and Yellow and Fuzzy Box vegetation.
Birdwatchers will find many rare bird species at Bald Hill Reserve Geurie, including White-browed Babblers, Little Lorikeets, Black-chinned Honeyeaters, Crested Shrike-Tits, Diamond Firetails, Square-tailed Kite, and Painted Button-Quail. The cemetery area and adjacent Bald Hill Reserve are particularly good spots for birdwatching.
While Bald Hill Reserve Geurie can be visited year-round, the best time for birdwatching is during the breeding season, which occurs from September to November.
To reach Bald Hill Reserve Geurie, visitors can take the Bookham to Narromine railway line or access the reserve from Westbrook road via the Mitchell Highway. Geurie is located just ten minutes away from Dubbo, a major regional city. Travelers can fly into Dubbo City Regional Airport from Sydney or Melbourne and then drive to the reserve.
