Baragoot Beach is a picturesque three-kilometer beach located in the Cuttagee Beach Reserve, in the Bega Valley Shire of New South Wales.
It stretches from Baragoot Lake in the north to Cuttagee Point in the south.
Baragoot Beach is a popular spot for swimming, surfing, and beach fishing, with several beach breaks available. The beach is also perfect for a leisurely walk or an early morning jog. The stunning Baragoot Lake is situated at the northern end of the beach, offering opportunities for paddling, kayaking, or fishing. During low tide, you can walk across the sandbar to the ocean, making it an exciting activity for nature enthusiasts.
The best access to Baragoot Beach is from the car park on the southern side of Baragoot Lake in the north, while in the south at Cuttagee Point a car park and picnic area are available. The beach and lake are both easily accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
Baragoot Beach can be enjoyed all year round. During the summer months, from December to February, the beach is perfect for swimming, surfing, and sunbathing. In the winter months, from June to August, the beach can be blustery, and the sea can be rough, making it an ideal spot for anglers and experienced surfers.
Baragoot Beach is approximately eight kilometers from the charming town of Bermagui. If you are driving from Sydney, it will take you approximately five hours to reach the beach, while the drive from Canberra is around three and a half hours
