Barossa Chateau Queens Rose Garden is a magnificent garden located in Lyndoch.
Established in 2000 by Hermann Thumm, it was officially opened by HM Queen Elizabeth II in 2002. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction where visitors can relax, stroll through the gardens, and enjoy the beautiful roses.
At Barossa Chateau, visitors can take a leisurely walk through the various themed gardens and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. The rose garden is the highlight of the attraction, boasting over 25,000 bushes and around 1,200 different varieties of roses. The gardens are divided into several sections, such as the statue garden, the heritage garden, the friendship garden, and the water garden. Visitors can enjoy the scent of roses and take plenty of photos of the colorful blooms. The adjacent Chateau is also worth a visit, as it is now a venue for weddings, functions, and events.
The garden is open daily, except on Christmas Day and Good Friday. During this time, the garden is in full bloom, showcasing its many colors and varieties.
Barossa Chateau Queens Rose Garden is located on Hermann Thumm Drive, Lyndoch, a small town in the Barossa Valley. It is about a 1-hour drive from Adelaide, and the easiest way to get there is by car. Visitors can follow the A20 Barossa Valley Way before turning onto Hermann Thumm Drive. Alternatively, joining a tour that includes a stop at the garden is also an option.
