Barron Falls, also known as Din Din, is a rocky waterfall located on the Barron River near Kuranda Village.
The waterfall is a popular attraction for tourists due to its beautiful and dramatic scenery. Its volumetric flow rate of water can reach almost 265,000-megalitres in a day during the wetter months of summer and autumn.
There are several ways through which you can enjoy stunning views of Barron Falls. One of the best ways is by visiting the Din Din Barron Falls Lookout, which provides you with an excellent vantage point. The lookout is easily accessible via a short and wheelchair-friendly walkway. The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway gives visitors an opportunity to soar over the falls while enjoying beautiful aerial views. Furthermore, you can also view the falls from Skyrail's The Edge lookout.
The wetter months of summer and autumn are the ideal time to visit Barron Falls, as the water flow is at its highest, transforming the falls into a roaring spectacle. During this time, you can appreciate the raw power of mother nature, and take amazing photographs.
You can get to Barron Falls via the Kuranda Scenic Railway, which stops at Barron Falls Station. You can alight from the train and enjoy fantastic views of the waterfall. Also, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway provides an opportunity to view the falls via the cable car while cruising over the Wet Tropics Rainforest.
