Description
Bellevue Estate is a winery located in the absolutely stunning McLaren Vale wine region, in South Australia.
The Vineyard
Bellevue Estate Vineyard is a ten acre Shiraz vineyard situated on the main street in the township of McLaren Vale. Corey hand planted the original five acre north/south facing vineyard. In 1997, with Calius cuttings from Steve Maglieri’s vineyard, the remaining five acre east/west facing vineyard were planted. In 1999 both were clone 1127.
The vines sit on a foot of red and brown loam over lime and ironstone. With a vacant 20 acre cash crop on the seaward side, the vineyard enjoys the benefit of the cooling afternoon sea breezes provided by the St Vincent Gulf to compliment the warm ripening days.
Established in 2007, Bellevue produces only one product, their single vineyard Bellevue Estate Basket Pressed Shiraz.
All wine is made on site in their own micro winery. Their wine is fermented in small two tonne open fermenters prior to basket pressing with a limited release of only 600 to 1000 cases.
Bellevue Estate welcomes visitors to the winery and to taste the wines on offer by appointment only. They also have a range of other facilities to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
