Belongil Beach stretches approximately 2.5 km from the seawall at Byron Bay to Belongil Creek and estuary.

The long stretch of white sand is bordered by ocean and bushland, providing a picturesque paradise. Accommodation options near Belongil Beach are easily accessible by foot, but for those traveling by car, parking is easy to find.

Belongil Beach's quiet and unspoiled coastline is perfect for morning strolls and lazy afternoons spent soaking up the sun. Enjoy the spectacular Byron Bay hinterland and iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse, with panoramic views of the sunrise and sunset. Along the stretch of coastline is dedicated dog-friendly areas, and excellent surf breaks, appealing to all.

At the southern end of Belongil Beach, a section in front of First Sun Holiday Park, is patrolled throughout the summer. On this section of the beach, a part of the SS Wollongbar shipwreck is visible above the water. Besides, various amenities such as public toilets, showers, and an area for naturists can be found at different points along the beach. The Reserve also houses a colony of endangered Little Terns, which fly in from East Asia every October to lay their eggs on the sand.

Belongil Beach is a perfect destination all year round, but it is crucial to note the life-guarded months. During these months, swimming is safest as the beach is patrolled.
