Description
CavesTimbers is unique in the sense that I endeavour to be involved in the entire process from log to finished product.
Around 2018, a lot of my personal time was spent lugging wind-fallen trees from nearby farms back to my property. That hard work has now paid off however, as most of those logs I milled back in 2018 are now coming out of the workshop as a finished product destined for someone’s home.
It’s a incredible feeling being involved with the whole process myself; collecting logs, sorting logs, milling logs, stacking timber, storing timber, walking around in circles scratching my head wondering what to make out of the timber… then finally creating something worthwhile. It’s humbling to then be able to give that piece up to somebody else to enjoy in their own home.
I endeavour to design pieces that will last a lifetime in people’s homes, become part of their own stories, and bring smiles to faces everywhere. I hope to encourage more people to support small, local-made businesses, and understand the exact journey their purchases have come from. It is my biggest goal to design beautiful timber works, all while having a minimal impact on our environment and planet.
