Description
Berton Vineyards prides itself on being a contemporary winery with an emphasis on all that is casual, friendly and approachable in wine.
Berton Vineyards all started at our Eden Valley Vineyard, in High Eden, South Australia. High Eden is a subregion of Eden Valley, situated in the Barossa Valley. It is the highest part of the Barossa, about 500 meters above sea level. In this beautiful part of the world they have planted Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The best parcels of fruit from these Shiraz vineyards go into our Berton Vineyards Bonsai Shiraz, their flagship wine. Fruit from the Shiraz vineyard also forms the backbone for their Reserve Shiraz, which won the Decanter Platinum Best Value Rhone varietal in 2017. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc make their High Eden Range, and the Chardonnay goes into the White Rock Chardonnay and Reserve Eden Valley Chardonnay.
Over the years they have formed some close relationships with growers of the Riverina, who they work with to bring high quality fruit which forms the majority of our annual grape intake. They crush and ferment each vineyard in batches and then grade and blend accordingly. The fruit from the Riverina generally makes up the Outback Jack, Foundstone and Head Over Heels ranges.
