Founded in 1866, Best’s is one of Australia’s oldest continuously family owned and operated wineries. Best’s Wines is a winery located in the absolutely stunning Great Western wine region, in Victoria. Established in 1866, the winery produces a range of wines with varieties that include Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling are their specialties, and they also produce small-parcel wines that are available taste and purchase at their cellar door. Other varieties produced include Pinot Meunier, Dolcetto, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sparkling Shiraz and Rosé.
Best’s Wines truly memorable Concongella Cellar Door is the heart of Best’s operation and is housed in the original stables. Henry Best’s journal, with entries dating back to 1866, is on display, along with interesting artifacts and historic family photos. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the underground cellars and view the original Nursery Block plantings, both of which are a significant slice of Australian wine history. Guests can enjoy a range of tasting experiences, ‘Pick a Platter’ cheese boards as well as special events throughout the year.
