Description
Located in Bicheno, the Bicheno Whalers Lookout Scenic Reserve offers breathtaking panoramic views of the town and its harbour.
It has two lookout platforms that provide different views - one facing east towards the ocean and the other overlooking the town and its western shores.
The reserve is a popular spot for picnics, where visitors can relax and enjoy the beautiful coastal views. The steep cliffs and sparkling blue waters are a highlight, with the lookout platforms offering a chance to see the turquoise waters of the Tasman Sea crashing onto the cliffs. There is also a possibility of spotting migrating whales or dolphins.
The best time to visit is during the summer months when the weather is warm and the sea is calm.
To get to the reserve, Bicheno is located on the east coast of Tasmania. It is approximately 179km from Hobart and 225km from Launceston. Visitors can access the reserve by car or public transport. If driving, take the A3 to Bicheno and follow the signs to the reserve. There is a designated parking area. If using public transport, take a bus or coach to Bicheno and walk to the reserve, which is near the town centre.
