Description

Blackdown Tableland National Park is a captivating mountainous plateau in Central Queensland, located 576 km (358 mi) northwest of Brisbane. It features unique landscapes with gorges, waterfalls, stunning views, and diverse vegetation. The plateau rises abruptly from the plains below, creating a fascinating terrain of rises and depressions. The park is home to numerous creeks that have formed awe-inspiring gorges and spectacular waterfalls, including the notable Rainbow Falls (Gudda Gumoo).

The park is also the traditional home of the Ghungalu people, who have lived here for over 30,000 years and have left their rock art throughout the park. The plateau has a moderate climate compared to the surrounding plains, supporting a wide variety of flora and fauna. Facilities in the park include a campground and walking tracks that lead to various attractions. Access to the park is available through a turn-off located 6.8 miles West of Dingo along the Capricorn Highway newline.
