Description
The Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk is a popular and scenic coastal walk in Sydney, Australia.
It offers stunning views of the coastline, beautiful beaches, and opportunities to stop at cafes along the way. The walk spans over six kilometers from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach and can be completed in about 2 hours, but can also be broken up with stops along the route.
During the walk, you will pass by various beaches, including Tamarama Beach, Clovelly Beach, and Coogee Beach, as well as coves and bays to explore. The walk also takes you past the Waverley Cemetery, an historic landmark and scenic cemetery where many notable Australians are buried, such as Henry Lawson.
If you want to experience the Sculptures by the Sea exhibition, which showcases contemporary art sculptures, plan your visit for spring when this event takes place along the Bondi to Tamarama section of the walk. Keep in mind that the weather can be unpredictable, so it's a good idea to check the forecast before starting the walk.
To get to Bondi Beach, you can take a 35-minute scenic ride from the Sydney Opera House using public transport. Catch a train from the city to Bondi Junction, and then take a bus to Bondi Beach. Alternatively, you can take a bus directly from the city to Bondi Beach. Once at Bondi Beach, head towards the northern end to start the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk.
