PLAN E was engaged to create a world class attraction to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the park. The Botanic Terraces and Pavilion presents as an individual and unique landscape seamlessly integrated within the overall theme and aesthetic of the Western Australian Botanic Garden. The pavilion is designed as a belvedere, commanding long views over the Swan River to the south and south east. 

Its location is on a key view line within Kings Park and Botanic Garden, being the May Drive view line to the south over the Swan and Canning Rivers. Universal access to both the Botanic Terraces and Pavilion is provided from the Fraser Avenue precinct primary pedestrian circulation system.
