Description
The Archer family has been cultivating these lands for nearly two centuries, and their story is one of immense significance to the history of Australia.
Brickendon Estate, alongside its neighbouring property, Woolmers Estate, was declared a World Heritage Site in 2010 as part of the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property. The two Estates are some of the most important rural areas in the country, and have the second most number of convict workers.
Visitors and cottage guests can explore the rural landscape, marvel at the Heritage Gardens and take in the incredible collection of convict-built buildings. If you have any connection to early Australia, be it a convict ancestor, farm worker, tradesman or free settler, Brickendon and Woolmers offer a unique opportunity to explore and connect with your past.
