Description
Bunurong Marine National Park is a protected marine national park located off the coast of Cape Paterson in Victoria, Australia.
It covers 2,100 hectares and is a significant cultural and ceremonial site for the Bunurong people, the traditional owners of the land. The park's coastal waters protect a range of habitats and are home to diverse marine life, including seals, dolphins, rays, and fish. The park features various rocky cliffs and formations, such as the Eagles Nest and the Flat Rocks, which are popular for exploring, snorkelling, and scuba diving. The park is also known for its dinosaur discoveries, with the Cape Paterson Claw being Australia's first dinosaur bone. Visitors can learn more about these discoveries at the Inverloch Shell Museum. Accessing the park is convenient, with entry points available along the coast, including through the Cape Paterson caravan park, car parks off Cape Paterson-Inverloch Road, and boat launching facilities in Inverloch.
