Description
If you're looking for a breathtaking experience, head to Captain Cook Lookout at the base of Smoky Cape lighthouse.
Feel the salty breeze as you take in the stunning views of the Tasman Sea and Hat Head National Park. From May to July, you can witness the majestic southern right and humpback whales as they make their way past the headland. August to October is when they make their return journey. Don't forget to look out for the playful dolphins in the area, too!
Birdwatchers will also find this spot ideal, but if you prefer to just sit back and take in the scenery, the clifftop picnic area is the perfect place to do so. For the more active visitors, there are Jack Perkins walking track and the longer Little Bay to Smoky Cape.
