History
Between 2008 and 2013 Castaways Beach was within the Sunshine Coast Region (following an unpopular local government amalgamation that was subsequently reversed).In the 2006 census the population of Castaways Beach was 617 people.At the 2011 census the suburb recorded a population of 606.In the 2016 census Castaways Beach had a population of 656 people.
