Description
In the mid-1800s, Central Greenough was established as a hub of colonial expansion, situated around 25 kilometres south of Geraldton and 380 kilometres north of Perth.
It was built as a necessary service centre to the farms that surrounded it, with churches, schools, stores, government offices and law enforcement all located there. Its flood plain was formed by the nearby Greenough River.
