Christchurch Transitional Cathedral

The Christchurch Transitional Cathedral, also known as the Cardboard Cathedral, is a unique and innovative structure located in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Designed by award-winning Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, the cathedral was built as a temporary replacement for the original ChristChurch Cathedral, which was severely damaged in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake. The Cardboard Cathedral is the largest "emergency structure" designed by Ban and can seat up to 700 people.
