Collier Range National Park

Collier Range National Park is a beautiful national park located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, boasting breathtaking landscapes and vegetation.

The park is easily accessible from the nearest major town, Newman, and can be reached by following the Marble Bar Road.

The ranges in Collier Range National Park vary in elevation and are surrounded by cliffs. The vegetation in the area consists mainly of spinifex and mulga, with eucalypts lining the creek lines. Dense scrubland in the northeastern plains is home to mulga scrub and mulla mulla, while the western end is characterized by spinifex and sand dunes.

The Pilbara Pebble-Mound Mouse, unique to the Pilbara region, can be found here as well as in the Millstream-Chichester National Park and the Karlamilyi National Park. Despite its natural beauty and unique biodiversity, the management of Collier Range National Park is lacking. Department of Parks and Wildlife staff from Karratha only visit the park occasionally, and it suffers from damage caused by feral donkeys and wandering cattle. Fire management and weed control are not practiced.
