Corn Trail Walking Track Buckenbowra is a historic trail that offers a unique opportunity to discover the ancient route used by Aboriginals thousands of years ago.
The trail was later used by European settlers on pack horses to carry supplies. Today, the trail is popular among bushwalkers and horse riding groups seeking a challenging adventure.
The trail takes you on a downhill journey from high mountain ridges to deep rainforest-filled valleys. Along the way, you will pass the gently flowing Buckenbowra River, wander through warm temperate rainforest and walk through Eucalypt forests. The trail offers magnificent views of Mount Budawang and the sandstone peaks of Pigeon House and Castle Mountain further north. The journey is both challenging and rewarding, showcasing a plethora of stunning natural landscapes and wildlife.
Corn Trail Walking Track Buckenbowra is accessible all year round. The trail can be challenging, therefore, it is recommended that you undertake it during daylight hours, allowing plenty of time for rest and refreshments during the trek.
Corn Trail Walking Track Buckenbowra is located in the southern region of New South Wales, close to Batemans Bay. To reach the trailhead, take Kings Highway 1 towards Braidwood, then turn onto Monga Lane. After a 5km drive, turn left onto Corn Trail Road and drive onwards for approximately an additional 5km. You will reach a sign which indicates the beginning of the trailhead.
