Description
An early intervention mental health support service for children and young people aged 5-18 years living in the City of Wanneroo.
Cusp is for children and young people aged 5-18 years who are experiencing an emotional disturbance or vulnerable to the development of a mental health issue. Cusp engages participants directly in: talking with staff in a safe and secure space, settling personal goals that encourage change, fostering partnerships with people who care, identifying strategies that reduce the size and strength of challenges. Services are offered on the basis of a Family Action Plan developed with the child/children and a parent, guardian or significant supportive adult. Parent directed work will be undertaken when it is clearly supported by the children’s goals within the Family Action Plan. Services can be delivered in participants' schools, homes, community facilities or Wanslea's Clarkson office. The Australian Government’s Department of Social Services fund Wanslea’s Cusp program.
