Description
D'Aguilar National Park is a beautiful natural reserve located in Queensland, Australia.
The park encompasses the D'Aguilar Range and covers an area of 36,400 hectares. It is known for its diverse flora, including eucalyptus woodlands, sub-tropical rainforests, and grassy areas. The park is also home to a wide range of fauna, with over 240 species of birds and 66 mammal species. Visitors can spot various bird species, mammals like echidnas and kangaroos, and reptiles such as the tree goanna and land mullet. The Walkabout Creek Visitor Centre is a great starting point for exploring the park, offering information and educational displays. Camping is available in formal camping areas and remote bush camping sites. The park also features stunning lookouts like Jolly's Lookout and Westridge Outlook, as well as the villages of Mount Nebo and Mount Glorious, which offer cafes, shops, and galleries. The southern section of the park, formerly known as Brisbane Forest Park, provides excellent bushwalking experiences with trails suitable for all fitness levels. Visitors are advised to come prepared with suitable clothing, footwear, water, and a map.
