Description
Located in Warren National Park, the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree is a towering landmark standing at 75 meters or 246 feet.
Originally intended for climbing in celebration of Australia's bicentenary in 1988, it has since become a popular tourist attraction, providing a thrilling and one-of-a-kind experience. Visitors can access a lookout platform by climbing 165 metal spikes embedded into the trunk, offering panoramic views of the surrounding national park. Alongside its historical significance, the tree has served as a fire lookout in the past. Despite the closure of the Diamond Tree in 2019, both the Bicentennial Tree and Gloucester Tree remain climbable and continue to draw tourists. Named after local politician Dave Evans, this destination appeals to history enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike, offering a glimpse into the past while showcasing the natural beauty of Warren National Park.
