Description
Denmark Hill Conservation Reserve is a popular natural escape located in Ipswich Central, just a few minutes away from the city's main streets.
Established in the 1880s, the reserve offers a range of walking circuits and is known for its diverse bird population. Visitors can explore the walking circuits and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of native trees. The reserve is particularly popular for bird watching, with owls, kookaburras, wrens, and finches being some of the notable species. Families and groups can also take advantage of the children's playground and barbecue area. The reserve is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during spring and summer when the flora and fauna are most active. To get to the reserve, visitors can take a train to Ipswich Central Station from Brisbane Airport and then connect to Denmark Hill. Alternatively, they can walk, drive, or bike to the reserve. It's important to note that public access to the water tower has been closed indefinitely by Queensland Urban Utilities.
