Description

Dinden National Park Mareeba is a must-visit destination in the Cairns region of Queensland, Australia.

The park straddles the Lamb Range and consists of two national parks - Dinden and Davies Creek. Visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities while exploring the natural beauty of the park. Here is what you can see and do while visiting:

  • Davies Creek Falls: Witness the breathtaking sight of a magnificent waterfall flowing over large granite boulders. Relax on the sun-warmed rocks or take a refreshing dip in the clear waters of the creek.
  • Clohesy River Fig Tree: Take a stroll along the 300-meter boardwalk to marvel at the impressive fig tree.
  • Camping Areas: Stay at Davies Creek or Dinden camping areas and choose from a range of walks, including the challenging 12.3-kilometer Kahlpahlim Rock circuit.
  • Mountain Biking: Explore the park on purpose-built mountain bike trails for a unique experience.
  • Scenic Drives: Drive along Clohesy River Road to discover the picturesque Shoteel Creek and Clohesy River valleys.

The best time to visit the park is during the Australian winter months (June - September) when the weather is drier and cooler. The wet season (November - April) brings heavy rain, which can make some activities and access difficult.

To reach the park, travel approximately 50 kilometers from Cairns by road. Follow the Captain Cook Highway west, then take the Kuranda Range Road to Kuranda, and finally exit to Mareeba, Davies Creek Road. Follow the signs to reach the park.

Facilities at the park include disabled access, a carpark, picnic area, and public toilets.

Camping is available at Lower Davies Creek
