The final leg involves taking a bumpy 4WD track followed by a 2km walk through the rainforest to reach the beach.
Accessible via a forest boardwalk, Dolly Beach offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse oneself in nature's beauty. As well as being fringed by coconut palms, the beach boasts a marvelous coral reef where visitors can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving. The sandy shore is also dotted with a number of shallow rock pools and a freshwater stream. Dolly Beach is a prized spot for marine turtles, which nest here. Visitors can often spot adult turtles and hatchlings' tracks left on the beach. Additionally, giant robber crabs are also a common sight in the area. Dolly Beach is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with a vibrant range of bird species.
Dolly Beach's serene ambiance, fresh water, and level ground make it a popular spot for camping. If you plan to camp here, remember that you'll need to obtain a permit beforehand. The best time to visit Christmas Island is from April to November as the weather remains dry and sunny newline.
