Managed by the Gold Coast Waterways Authority, the park spans across 30 hectares and serves as a recreational area for the community. It offers accessible car parking, flat grounds, and ample shade, making it suitable for holding festivals and other major city events.
Visitors to Doug Jennings Park Main Beach can enjoy a scenic view of the Broadwater from the CBD. The park is an excellent location for surfing, fishing, boating, swimming, picnics, dog walking, and relaxation. A stroll along the Seaway Promenade from the Moondarewa Spit allows visitors to take in the park's beauty. Along the promenade, there is a Seaway Kiosk that serves as a nice lunch spot with a large deck overlooking the park.
Accessibility is a priority at Doug Jennings Park Main Beach. The park features a pathway leading around the park, disabled toilets, and disabled parking bays, making it easily accessible for people with disabilities. It also offers picnic shelters and tables, a fish cleaning station, beach showers, drinking fountains with dog bowls, bike racks, an off-leash dog beach, a marine stadium jetty pontoon, and seating along the Seaway Promenade. Public toilet facilities are conveniently located near the Kiosk and along the Moondarewa Spit.
Doug Jennings Park Main Beach is an ideal destination to visit throughout the year. There is a large outdoor car park, Doug Jennings Park Carpark, located at the end of Seaworld Drive, The Spit, with additional parking available along the ring road. The park is easily accessible by car or public transport from most areas on the Gold Coast.
