Description
Dutchman Stern Conservation Park in Quorn is a popular destination for bushwalkers, offering a range of trails suitable for different fitness levels and interests.
Families can enjoy a day close to nature in this park, which is open year-round except on total fireban days.
The park features several trails, including the 4.1km ridgetop walk that takes approximately four hours to complete round trip. This trail offers panoramic views of the park and surrounding mountains. For a more challenging hike, the 10.5km loop walk takes around five hours and includes beautiful creek crossings and picturesque mountain views. There is also a 2km trail to the Terrace Viewpoint, providing stunning views of Mt Brown, Devil's Peak, and Wilpena Pound on clear days.
Located about 13km east of Quorn near the Flinders Ranges, the park is accessible by car. Visitors can park at the trailhead near the park entrance.
With an altitude ranging from 440m at the trailhead to 810m at Checkpoint 3, Dutchman Stern Conservation Park is also part of the popular Heysen trail, one of South Australia's most renowned trails.
