East Coast Surf School

Welcome to East Coast Surf School Australia, the perfect spot for all those who want to learn to surf, or enhance their current skills.

Our experienced and qualified teachers are committed to ensuring you have the best experience, and all the necessary equipment is supplied. The only requirement is that all participants must be able to swim.

For those wanting to take a lesson, we offer individual rates of $60.00 per person, and group rates are also available. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment. All surfboards are soft and stable, perfect for beginners, while more experienced surfers can make use of fiberglass boards, depending on the conditions. Wetsuits, booties and helmets are also provided for comfort and protection.

We recommend that you bring sunscreen and some change for parking in summer months, as well as payment for your lesson. Most lessons take place at Point Leo, but depending on the conditions, we may take advantage of some of the other beautiful surf beaches on the Mornington Peninsula. Please note that some of these beaches do have parking fees, and pets are not allowed.

Our teachers are certified to the highest level with Surfing Australia, and many have years of competitive experience. Our owner and head coach, Prue Latchford, is a 2001 Australian Women’s Masters Champion and a passionate surfer. With their local knowledge of the area, you can be sure you’re in safe and capable hands.
