Description
Located in the Blue Mountains Region of New South Wales, Edith Falls is an awesome trail connecting the towns of Woodford and Hazelbrook, with three different waterfalls to visit along the way.
The hike is an out-and-back trail of 6.8 km, with a total elevation gain of 259 m. It's generally considered an easy route, taking around 2 hours and 5 minutes to complete, making it perfect for a day hike or a weekend adventure.
During your hike, you will be in a beautiful natural setting, passing through the Horseshoe Falls Reserve. You'll explore the picturesque scenery and pass by several waterfalls, including Edith Falls, Mabel Falls, and Hazel Falls. Paradise Waterhole is another natural attraction worth checking out – a perfect spot for swimming or just to unwind and soak in the natural beauty.
The best time to hike the Edith Falls Trail is during the Australian spring, which runs from September to November when the weather is mild and suitable for outdoor activities.
To get to the Edith Falls Trail, drive west from Sydney, take the M4 freeway, and exit at Woodford. The trailhead is located on the Woodbury Street in the village of Woodford. If coming by public transport, take a train to Woodford station, from where it's a 10-minute walk to the trailhead.
Many walking tracks, fire trails, and roads in the Blue Mountains National Park are currently closed due to recent wet weather and geological instability.
