Ellen Cove Albany

At southern end of Middleton Beach, where the bay wraps around the headland is called Ellen Cove. This corner of the beach is perfect to chill out and cool down.

Located at the Southern end of Middleton Beach, Ellen Cove is a gorgeous bay to swim and relax. The little nook shelters harsh waves, making it the perfect place to enjoy some tranquility. Feel at peace in mind knowing that in the summer months, this beach is patrolled and a safe spot to swim. Nearby is the Ellen Cove broadwalk and trail, if you are looking for a nice stroll to finish up your day.

The new shark net at Ellen Cove, which was only installed in December 2020, is stronger and more flexible than the last and will be providing peace of mind for the next five years. Using the Aquarius Barrier System which includes heavy duty marine ropes and robust nylon struts that avoid marine entanglement or entrapment. The seabed-to-surface enclosure ensures swimmers can swim confidently and safely.
