Description
Erskine Falls is a stunning waterfall located in the Great Otway National Park and is one of Australia's most visited waterfalls.
The 30-meter cascade pours rapidly down the face of the cliff and creates beautiful scenery. There are several ways to see Erskine Falls: Upper Falls Lookout, Lower Falls Lookout, and the base of the falls.
Erskine Falls can be reached by car from Lorne Central, which is about 10km inland from Lorne, Victoria's Great Ocean Road. If you are driving, you can park your car at Blanket Leaf Picnic Area and take the Lemonade Creek Walk to Erskine Falls (4.4km one-way). Alternatively, you can park in Erskine Ave and head across the river to the caravan park. Go straight through the caravan park until you come to a park that leads to the falls. The falls are also easily accessible by foot from Lorne town center.
There are three ways to see Erskine Falls: Upper Falls Lookout, Lower Falls Lookout, and the base of the falls. The Upper Falls Lookout is close to the car park, while the Lower Falls Lookout requires a short walk down some stairs. If you’re able to get to the base of the falls, it's recommended as it provides a front-on view of this superb water feature. There are three walks to enjoy at Erskine Falls. Visitors can enjoy a 7.5km one-way walk that takes about three hours and passes Straw Falls and Splitter Falls. There are two lookout locations to enjoy views of this stunning cataract newline.
