Description
Evans Crown Nature Reserve is a stunning 425-hectare reserve located just 3km southeast of the village of Tarana.
The reserve features spectacular granite formations, with the summit at Crown Rock reaching an impressive 1104 metres above sea level. It holds significant importance to the Waradjuri Aboriginal people. The reserve is dedicated to the conservation of a range of native flora and fauna, with recreational uses allowed as long as they do not compromise the area's natural resources.
Visitors can enjoy several activities at the reserve, including hiking along the walking trail, having a picnic, and taking in the breathtaking views. It is a perfect destination for nature lovers and photographers, with an abundance of native flora and fauna to see. The reserve can be accessed by road, approximately a two-hour drive northwest of Sydney. Visitors can also reach the reserve by train or bus, with the nearest station located in Lithgow. From there, buses leave to Tarana, which is only a few kilometers away from the reserve.
