Eventscorp, the events division of Tourism Western Australia, continues to make a significant contribution to Western Australia through event tourism each year.
Eventscorp's innovative thinking and benchmark setting is what sets it apart from other event agencies.
Eventscorp's areas of expertise include event management, television broadcast, marketing, research, media, government relations and venue identification.
Eventscorp achieves its goals by implementing a number of strategies which include:
identifying and attracting a diverse range of world class events to Western Australia
providing funding for both major events as well as regional events though the Regional Events Scheme
supporting and developing events from concept to successful implementation
managing and growing events, where appropriate, particularly in regional areas
leveraging tourism, business and media opportunities through events.
The appeal of world or national sporting championships and other world-class events to potential travellers and investors should not be underestimated. Events are often considered the "added reason" for a visitor's decision to travel.
The Western Australian community is proud of its past record for staging and hosting major events. In past years, Western Australia has effectively hosted blockbuster events such as the Margaret River Pro Surfing, Telstra Rally Australia, Red Bull Air Race, A Day in Pompeii Exhibition, 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships, Australasian Safari, Ironman Western Australia Triathlon and the Hyundai Hopman Cup Tennis.
Eventscorp sets world benchmarks in organisation and professionalism. Post-event research consistently reports high satisfaction amongst stakeholders with Eventscorp's organisation, management and support before, during and after an event.
Eventscorp's future is a bright one, with 16 new events of a record total of 84 on the 2012 event calendar, staged in 58 locations around Western Australia.
