Fern Glade Reserve Stowport is an incredible natural reserve, located less than 4 km from the city center of Burnie.
It is part of Tasmania's must-visit, 60 Great Short Walks and offers a peaceful environment for walking. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including the platypus.
The 20-hectare reserve provides a habitat for a range of wildlife species, such as the platypus, red-necked wallaby, and echidna. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful walk along the banks of the Emu River, with a high chance of spotting the platypus surfacing. The reserve also offers barbecue and picnic facilities, as well as toilets for visitors.

There are two entrances to the reserve. The main entrance is accessible by vehicle, while the second entrance is located 0.5 km further up the river.
