Description
Located in southern Tasmania, the Fossil Cove Conservation Area is a must-visit trail that offers scenic views and the opportunity to explore geological formations and ancient fossils.
The conservation area is easily accessible by car, with a limited roadside parking area available. The trail itself is a short out-and-back route with steep steps leading through light bushland. It provides stunning views of the cove, a rock archway, and a platform filled with fossils. Visitors can explore the fossils on the platform side of the cove, but it's important to ensure low tide before doing so. Fossil Cove also offers breathtaking views of the Iron Pot lighthouse. It can be visited throughout the year, but visitors should be cautious of the steep stairs and uneven terrain. Checking the tide timetable is recommended for a more enjoyable experience newline.
