Description
Located in the serene town of Iluka, Frazers Reef is a well-maintained National Park beachside haven.
If you are coming from the highway, when the golf course shows up on your right, be on the lookout for the Frazers Reef turnoff to your left.
Upon arrival, you will find a convenient car park/picnic area that has toilets, barbecues and a pleasing number of tempting tracks that lead to the beach.
Frazers Reef boasts of scenic views and a slightly steeper gradient than Shark Bay or Woody Head. The beach is flanked by Iluka Bluff on the southward curve, and the main track leads to a small observation area which looks out to a large, exposed reef shelf on the north.
This beach is unpatrolled and presents a unique oceanic activity experience that should be exercised with extreme caution. If you opt to swim, surf or rock fish, it is critical to be mindful of the ocean's energy and only do so when conditions permit.
Frazers Reef Iluka is a great destination to visit for people wanting to explore the scenic views, swim, surf or rock fish. The best time to visit is from late spring to early autumn when the weather is warm and the ocean is usually calmer.
You can easily access Frazers Reef by car. As you head into Iluka from the highway, keep an eye out for the Frazers Reef turnoff. The beach is a short drive from the town center.
