Nature lovers are sure to enjoy this area, especially in spring,asthecountryside isbeautiful and spectacular walks are providedat nearbyDingo Rock, Mount O’Brien and Mount Matilda.
Gathercole Nature Reserve and picnic area is a 10 minute drive east of Wongan Hills. Wongan Hills is a two and a half hour drive north of Perth.
A walk trail from the Gathercole picnic area is 2.2km long and is suitable for most levels of fitness. It has superb diplays of wildflowers in spring and boasts amazing natural rock scupltures.
There are many different vegetation types and rare flora present along the trail and views across the farmland and into the distance are available along the walk.
Ensure you take plenty of water with you as none is available at this site.
