Gloucester Falls Picnic Area is surrounded by ancient forests and gorgeous waterfalls. It is an excellent base for a short bushwalk, especially the Gloucester Tops circuit walk. The circuit walk combines a network of wonderful short walks, showcasing Antarctic beech trees, Gloucester Falls, and magnificent views across various landscapes.
If you have your own picnic hamper, you can unpack it in your secluded picnic area spot while enjoying the magnificent call of the eastern whip-bird echoing through the trees. For an enriching experience, interpretive signs are available near the picnic area to help visitors learn more about the area's rich history and how to make the most of their visit to this spectacular wilderness area.
Gloucester Falls Picnic Area is open throughout the day, year-round. Still, the best time to visit is during autumn or spring to catch the spectacular transition of colors – where deciduous trees shed their leaves, revealing the incredible array of colors of the Australian landscape.
Gloucester Falls Picnic Area is situated approximately 95km from Taree and 30km from Gloucester. The park is accessible by the Gloucester Tops Road, which is a tar-sealed road suitable for all vehicles. Visitors can park their vehicles at the picnic site and start exploring the area.
