Description
Located in Western South Australia, Goog's Track runs from Ceduna to Glendambo, covering more than 300 dunes in just 353km.
Before embarking on your journey along Goog's Track, keep in mind that the journey will take around two to three days to complete. Visitors should ensure that they are entirely self-sufficient as there is no access to fuel or water between Ceduna and Glendambo. Visitors are encouraged to travel south to north, use channel 18 on the UHF and avoid summer months. Fires are prohibited from 1 Nov to 15 April. National Park camping permits apply for Yumbarra Conservation Park.
The track is considered a shortcut from the continent’s interior to the Australia’s south coast and presents some outstanding features unique to this region. The sand dunes on the track are reminiscent of the Simpson Desert.
Camping is available at Ceduna Foreshore Caravan Park, Kingoonya, Googs Lake, and Mt Finke. The area offers vehicle-based camping, but a fee applies, and only 4WDs can access it. Visitors can also find many rockholes in the area that become an oasis for wildlife in the region, making it a great place for wildlife lovers.
