Great Barrier Lodge

Great Barrier Lodge is a self-contained accommodation located in Whangaparapara on Great Barrier Island, New Zealand.

Established in 1922, the lodge offers unfussy accommodations with ensuite bathrooms, and most rooms have water views. The lodge has a convenience shop for essentials, including alcohol, ice, snacks, basic grocery, and fuel. The lodge also offers boat re-fuelling at the wharf, kayak hire, and a mooring.

The lodge offers a variety of accommodation options, including three harbor view studios for two, three suites, each providing accommodation for up to five guests, and two stand-alone cottages. Most accommodations boast a patio or balcony. The lodge is centrally located on the island, offering easy access to the airport, the natural hot springs, the Aotea Track, and a multitude of walking trails, as well as kayaking and fishing.

Great Barrier Lodge has a low-key restaurant with outdoor seating, offering waterfront dining with harbor views. The lodge is surrounded by magnificent native bush, providing peace and quiet to its guests. The lodge is a 15-minute drive from Claris airport, making it easily accessible to travelers.
