Great Southern Museum Eclipse Building

The Eclipse Building is a key attraction at the Museum of the Great Southern where long-term collections, such as the Lighthouse Exhibition, Fishing Collection the Fish Wall are displayed.

The showpiece of the Eclipse Building is the Eclipse Island Optic, consisting of three glass lenses, each three meters high. The optic rotates silently on its bed of mercury and lights up the building. The Discovery Centre, which is all about hands-on interactive learning, is located on the bottom floor of the Eclipse Building.
