Description

Welcome to Greater Beedelup National Park, a stunning national park located in Western Australia.

Situated on the Vasse Highway only 10km west of Pemberton and roughly 277km south of Perth, the park is renowned for its lush and damp environment due to an abundance of water.

Gazetted in 1910, the park was declared an A Class Reserve in 1915. The Pemberton National Parks Board took responsibility for the park's management in 1957. Controlled burns occur within the park, and some clear felling operations have been conducted in selected areas that have also regenerated since.

The park primarily consists of karri forest, with mixed areas of jarrah and marri. The loamy soil supports a diverse range of plant species, including the swamp peppermint, hibbertia, karri hazel, waterbush, myrtle wattle, and lemon-scented darwinia. The area is also home to some rare fauna, including the woylie, numbat, and tammar.

One of the park's major attractions is the iconic Beedelup Falls, which are a must-see for all visitors. The falls are in full flow during the winter and spring seasons and offer a spectacular sight to behold. A suspension bridge constructed in 1995 provides visitors with the opportunity to cross Beedelup Brook and take in the stunning views of the falls.

Another unique feature of the park is the 'walk through karri tree'. This incredible 400-year-old tree has a large man-made hole cut through its base, allowing visitors to stand within and admire the natural beauty of the surrounding forest.

The park is named after Beedelup Brook, which was
