Greenmount National Park

Located just 22 km east of Perth in the suburb of Greenmount, Western Australia, Greenmount National Park is a small but important national park along the Darling Scarp.

It serves as a wildlife corridor and is part of the Darling Range Regional Park, making it a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts.

The park holds cultural and historical significance, being situated in the Helena River Valley, an area of Aboriginal folklore, and having been frequented by early European settlers. It features unique attractions such as the Mountain Quarry, a popular spot for rock climbers and walkers. Vehicular access to the quarry is restricted, but there are parking and picnic facilities within walking distance.

The park experienced significant bushfire damage in the early 2000s, resulting in large firebreaks that now serve as walking routes. Greenmount National Park offers vantage points with views over the Swan Coastal Plain and the Perth skyline. Vehicular access to the lookout on Greenmount Hill has been restricted due to vandalism and issues with nearby residents, but there are still walking and hiking trails that provide stunning views of the park's hills and wilderness.

The park is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including eucalypts, wildflowers, and heathland newline.
