Located in Kakadu National Park, Gungarre Walk is a 3.6 km family-friendly walk that showcases the diverse habitats of the park.
You can explore monsoon forests, woodlands, and Ankurdabbal Billabong, and enjoy the variety of bird and plant life along the way.
During the walk, you'll encounter three distinct habitats and have the opportunity to spot a range of bird species, including Rainbow Pittas, Orange-footed Scrub Fowls, Fantails, Finches, Jabirus, Eagles, and Jacanas. The boardwalk at Ankurdabbal Billabong offers great photo opportunities, and the walk starts near the giant banyan fig tree close to the Aurora Kakadu Resort.
If you prefer a shorter walk, there is a 1.4 km return walk to the boardwalk at the rear of the resort. This is a good option for hot weather or for those looking for a shorter walk.
