Description
HeliBike NZ is a guided mountain biking company located in Queenstown, New Zealand. They offer a range of epic guided riding experiences across Central Otago's stunning backcountry. The rides cater to intermediate (grade 3/4 and above) through to expert mountain bikers.
Most of their tracks are rough, backcountry trails, so previous mountain biking experience is recommended. HeliBike NZ has a huge focus on safety from the helicopter to the riding itself. Before take-off, they will brief you on everything you need to know about safety around the helicopter, as well as instructions about the trail and the route down the hill. Their guides are all trained in outdoor first aid and carry a full first aid kit with them to treat any emergencies that could happen on the trail. They also carry an emergency beacon and tracking device. HeliBike NZ is on Worksafe New Zealand’s Register of Adventure Activity Operators and is audited annually. To participate in a HeliBike NZ tour, you will need to bring your own bike, helmet, protective gear, and tools unless you are hiring them from HeliBike NZ. You will also need to bring a backpack with enough hydration and snacks for the duration of your trip and clothing appropriate for bike riding and potentially cold, wet weather, including a spare jacket. Sunblock is also recommended. Trips require a minimum of 3 people to go ahead and may be combined with other groups to optimize heli space.HeliBike NZ has been sharing Queenstown's backcountry with mountain bikers from around the world since 200.
